We were lucky to recently find a Lego collector in Denmark who had been hoarding quite a few brand new service packs of 4.5-volt light bricks since the mid-1980s. We convinced him to part with the lot for the right price so we could offer the individual bricks to Lego builders who need just one to use as a train headlight or dozens to light up an entire Lego town. Use your existing 4.5-volt wire and battery box (or train battery car) to make this brick illuminate a bright white light through its clear textured front panel and crystal-clear bottom panel.

Lego made two versions of 4.5-volt light bricks. The first in 1977 has a two-hole socket that uses wires with a two-pronged plug. An improved version began production in 1982 and has a third "diffusor" center hole that uses wires with plugs having a more secure plastic third prong between the metal contacts. The older two-pronged plugs can also power the newer three-hole lights. The light brick offered here is the modern three-hole type with diffusor, Lego part #x450c02.

You can daisy-chain an unlimited number of these lights together by plugging in the next wire's prongs to the edge sockets of the previous plug so an entire Lego town display is ready for the night life by flicking a single switch! Bulb strength and longevity may decrease with a large number of simultaneous connections.

Condition: Brand new light brick gently removed from the original service pack using latex gloves and attached to a battery box with fresh alkaline batteries for several seconds using a 4.5-volt wire to ensure it illuminates a steady bright white light with no flickering. Since this light brick has never been used for play, the sockets are tight and will not let the connecting plug slip out (as long as factory-new wire is used). The bulb will likely last many years, if not decades.
